People Eating Chocolates Have Lower Body Mass

Tinkers and Tatters ♥♥♥

Chocolates has been a favorite to many. Why not? It is sweet and tasty and really addicting.
But chocolates has also been blamed as one of the reasons for obesity due to its high sugar and calorie content.
A recent study shows that people eating chocolates at least twice a week have lower body mass index compared to those who do not eat chocolates.
In the study, people whose ages ranged from 20 to 85 are said to have consumed chocolates in an average of 2 times a week and exercise 3.6 times weekly.
Those who reportedly ate more chocolates have lower ratio of weight over height as compared to those who did not. The height over weight ratio is calculated by taking a person's weight and dividing it by their height times two.
The normal Body Mass Index (BMI) is from 18.5 to 24.9. Anything lower than 18.5 is considered underweight and anything above 24.9 is overweight.
According to the study led by Beatrice Golomb and colleagues at the University of California San Diego, adults who consumed chocolate frequently had lower BMI than those who did not.
Although the research did not establish the reasonable amount or beneficial limit for eating chocolate. Experts still urge moderation.
Chocolate contains the antioxidant polyphenols which improves blood pressure and helps lower cholesterol levels and blood sugar.
Chocolates does have healthy benefits and a lot of studies have already proven that. But keep in mind that these studies show that chocolates along with healthy diet and exercise can improve your heart's health. Everything in excess is not good, just like chocolates, it should be consumed in moderation and combined with exercise and proper diet.
